Rafie (فیلم رفیع) is a quietly powerful Iranian drama that unfolds over the course of a single winter in a small provincial town. The story centers on Rafie, a reserved municipal worker tasked with maintaining aging public buildings, whose life is defined by routine and solitude. Beneath his calm exterior, however, lies a deep sense of loss tied to a fractured family relationship and a past he rarely speaks about.

When Rafie is assigned to oversee the demolition of an abandoned house, he discovers a collection of personal belongings left behind by its former residents. Among them is a series of letters that gradually draw him into the intimate history of strangers whose lives echo his own. As he reads, Rafie begins to question his emotional detachment and the choices that led him into isolation.

The film unfolds through restrained dialogue and evocative imagery, using silence and stillness to convey unspoken emotions. Everyday spaces—empty streets, dimly lit rooms, and forgotten corners—become reflections of Rafie’s inner world.

Rafie ultimately explores themes of memory, human connection, and the quiet courage it takes to face one’s past and seek reconciliation.
