Baraye Rana (فیلم برای رعنا) is a contemplative Iranian drama that weaves together mystery and emotional introspection. Directed by Alireza Raisian, the film follows Kaveh, a filmmaker struggling with creative uncertainty, and his wife Rana, who supports him while quietly confronting her own doubts. When they move into a modest Tehran apartment, they learn that a young woman who previously lived there died in what was ruled a suicide.

What begins as passing curiosity soon becomes an all-consuming fixation for Kaveh. He feels compelled to reconstruct the woman’s final days, interviewing neighbors and searching for fragments of her life. Gradually, he incorporates these discoveries into his screenplay, convinced that understanding her story will unlock his artistic breakthrough. However, his pursuit begins to strain his marriage. Rana senses that his fascination is less about justice and more about artistic ambition, leaving her feeling overshadowed by a ghost from the past.

The film unfolds with quiet tension, using confined spaces and subtle performances to explore memory, responsibility, and the ethics of storytelling. Rather than offering clear answers, A Film for Rana invites viewers to reflect on how art can illuminate hidden truths while also deepening emotional divides.
