Taaroz Film (فیلم تعارض) is a 2025 Iranian psychological thriller directed by Mohammad-Reza Lotfi and produced by Amir Seyedzadeh, released online on July 15, 2025 . A cross-national Iranian–Czech co-production, it premiered in autumn 2024 in theaters and participated in the Fajr Film Festival’s “New Look” section, followed by screenings at over 15 international festivals. A deep dive into modern surveillance culture, the film explores the psychological breakdown of Shahram (Reza Behboudi), a man tormented by paranoia and convinced he’s watched through omnipresent CCTV cameras. His obsession with surveillance invades every corner of his life—public and private alike—sparking a harrowing journey into isolation and inner turmoil.

Joining Behboudi are strong performances from Soudabeh Beizaei, Mohammad Sedighimehr, Parisa Mohammadi, Hamed Rahimi-Nasr, and Roghieh Afshinpour. The film’s technical backbone includes cinematography by Majid Gorjian, thoughtful set and costume design by Afsaneh Sarfejoo, artful makeup by Pedram Zargar, editing by Babak Ghaem, and evocative sound design by Ali Geraghouei. “Taaroz” stands out in contemporary Iranian cinema for its minimalist aesthetic and intense psychological tension. Its release on Filmnet marked a noteworthy move toward sophisticated, online-first film distribution, offering global audiences access to Iran’s most daring modern storytelling.
